Conservative Shennanigans - Redux

OK - another mailing arrived today, this one from (and I'm not going to even bother with the Cloak & Dagger stuff around these peoples' identities anymore; it's annoying) Bob Mills, Con MP for Red Deer.

Red Deer? Um, not even in my province!

So, I wanna know...Is anyone else in this vast country of ours receiving Conservative propaganda in their mail from MPs not of their riding? Please, let me know; I'm curious.

I spoke with my brother today, whom I share the mailbox with, and he said he's seen these before - and one was from an MP in Saskatchewan. He wasn't upset about it (perhaps I've too much time on my hands...) and said it was "just marketing, what can you do?"

I still think it's shifty and disingenuous.

So far, we have two MPs sending stuff to the NDP riding of BC - Southern Interior:

Rob Cannan (previously referred to as Mr. X or the neighbouring Con MP)
Bob Mills

I suspect I'll be adding to this list in the near future.

I took a picture of today's mailer with my response. I can send it postage paid, so why not?

Setting aside the shifty, etc., aspects of these mailings - this, to me, would seem to be a serious waste of money - therefore an indication of how the candidates would handle fiscal matters. Ya?

A waste of money AND paper, which is just as annoying, not to mention UNnenvironmentally friendly (like, anti-green when the Cons are supposed to be all about helping the environment? puh-leez!). I wonder if the Con Party is actually pawning off the cost of propaganda mailings to individual MPs because they're either too cheap, out of money, or just plain desperate. I have decided to voice my opinion and put a snarky response on the mail-in portion of the fliers, which I can post to the address in Ottawa for free - my tax payers dollars at work!

Red Deer? Ridiculous doesn't even begin to cover this. I have to say I haven't seen anything in the mail at all, from any MP's. I wonder if Mr. Anchovy is receiving any or any of the other CDN bloggers. Hmmmm.

Yeah, I got a flyer from Conservative MP John Baird about eliminating house arrest (complete with a photo of a guy drinking beer in his underwear). I'm not in his riding.

Tbis is ridiculous if they arent even in your riding area... Good for you for finding out why.

Agree with both of you. How about mailing the junk to each other (sending one MP's stuff to the other MP?)?
