So, I finally get to see what this plant looks like up close and personal.
No, don't worry; I didn't touch it in any way and I don't have a nasty rash. But, this was just off my brother's campsite, which my dad and I visited yesterday. My dad did a small hike and came across a sign on the trail describing poison ivy. There was a little rhyme to go along with it:
"Leaves of three, let it be."
There you have it. Be careful if you're out tromping around the woods this summer!More pictures from Syringa Creek here.

6 backtalkers:
I've managed to avoid the stuff so far *knocking wood*.
I see it all the time in my various fly fishing haunts. So far, I haven't got it on me.
Luckily we don't have that plant in Australia - although we do have others which should be avoided.
aye lassie, one especially has to be careful squatting to pee !!!!
FAMOUS STUPID PEOPLE IS BACK!
Thanks for the Pic, WC!!! That helps immensely.
BJ: Yes, if I'd actually seen a picture like this years and years ago, instead of a sketch, I would have been able to identify it a lot more easily. Luckily, those sketches were usually quite vague-looking and they made me paranoid, so I just avoided everything!
Actually, we used to think Oregon Grape was Poison Ivy, but I did learn what Oregon Grape looked like in reality when I was quite young, otherwise I'd have spent my life being wary of the wrong plant - and Oregon Grape is EVERYWHERE out here.
