What else can I say about this stupidity other than what I've already said?
This mailer came last week, and I got two copies because not only were they delivered to Rossland mailboxes, but they were also delivered to businesses in Trail, and I saved one from my work. So, this means I get to write two snarky messages this week, rather than one! This mailer, which is about the Harper government's deep concern about child safety, came courtesy Kevin Sorenson, Con MP for the Alberta riding of Crowfoot (his personal web page appears to not be working - note to Kevin: you might want to sort that out).
Here are my responses.
Edit @ 4:10pm: Scott over at Scott's Diatribes just posted about the Conservatives' refusal to build a school on a Cree reserve in Ontario. The children's current school building has been condemned, and they have been without a building for eight years. Chuck Strahl, who brought about the recent government apology to the First Nations, has said the school will not be built now, even though it was promised. Yeah, you're such a caring bunch of politicians, aren't you? You're so concerned about child safety and youth crime and Arctic sovereignity, but you can't commit to building a fucking school for some kids. Nice. Really, really nice.

7 backtalkers:
Received two here, in a riding whose MP is member of the NDP. One was from James Moore, whose riding is over on the mainland, the other was from an MP in New Brunswick - Greg Thompson, I dimly recollect.
Yep - I'm in an NDP riding too, but they don't give a shit.
What the heck is going on in Alberta? Yee gods. These are among the most helpless, illused part of Canadian society.
Nice.
Scott has just alerted me to the fact that this Cree reserve is located in Ontario, not Alberta, and I've edited the post to reflect that.
There was an appropriate remark from Obama about the administration's handling of education of our children, poor and middle class - he said ".........no child left behind, but the money for the program was left behind."
Wandering... thanks for writing about Attawapiskat, but a small correction. The community is in Ontario, not Alberta.
Stupid SOB's really. I mean come on those kids need a place to learn instead of traveling for hours in a day if that is what they do. They need a place closer to home.
