Recovery

Right now I seem to be feeling good. Really good (comparatively). I think I'm officially in remission or a state of recovery. I posted a list here of things I need to do to maintain this feeling of wellness.

I have energy and I'm using it, but I almost have too much of it at times so that I don't know what to do with myself. I'm working out at the gym for longer and, once the weather isn't so wet and crappy, plan on doing some hiking before the snow flies. I have projects on the go that are keeping me motivated and busy, and I start a new funded position at the end of October, when my current position ends. I'm baking and cooking and am inspired to try new things in the kitchen. I have few stressors now, which is nice, but as I am well aware, temporary.

In fact, the most annoying thing in my life right now is the fact that my new duvet is way too hot for me and I'm waking up each night in a pool of sweat. Last night, after discussing this problem with Shan, who recommended taking the 50/50 poly/cotton duvet cover off to see if the duvet breathed better, I did exactly than and it was much better. Now I need to find a light, 100% cotton duvet cover. Big stuff, eh? If only all of my issues could be so trivial and easily solvable.

And speaking of beds and heat and heat in beds, I think it's time to start looking for a new relationship. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about doing this as I'm pretty sure there are no men around here, but hey universe: I'm here, I'm open and available, and I am in want and need, OK? Just to let you know!

I have never had a feather comforter before but been told they are really nice and warm. Glad to hear you are feeling well. That is what we like to hear.

Oh, and hey, I was at a fancy hotel about 6 mos. ago-- they have a great bedding strategy: 100% cotton sheet. Duvet. 100% cotton fancy white sheet on top. Theirs had a windowpane type of pattern for the top sheet. I've adopted this strategy-- it allows for more breathing of the duvet and it's easier to wash just the sheets and make the bed. I had to wash my duvet cover all the time because white cotton + 2 cats + 1 dog = dirty gray cotton. Stuffing that fat worm of a down thing into the cover weekly was no fun! Now 3 minute after a bleachy wash and dry...Voila! Made bed! <3 BL

BL: Thanks, and thanks for the tip! I have a 100% cotton flat sheet that I think I'm going to dig out of storage to use instead of a duvet cover. I have a black cat and yeah, when she finds a nice spot it's a pain to keep the cover clean. The sheet idea is excellent.

And...I just think it's not cold enough yet for the duvet! I'm still too hot! So, I'll get my other bedding out for the time being, and once it's frosty on a regular basis, then I'll get the duvet out again!
